Taipei 101 - Skyscraper (2)

  The formerly name of Taipei 101 is the Taipei World Financial Center, is a landmark 


structure located in Xinyi District, Taipei, Taiwan.


  Height the building is 508m, roof height and top floor height as 448m.


  The building once was tallest building in the world until the opening of the Burj Khalifa


in Dubai in 2010.

  Taipei 101 was designed by C.Y. Lee & partners and constructed by Samsung C&T


and KTRT Joint Venture.


  Taipei 101 comprises 101 floors above ground and 5 floors underground.

  The building was architecturally created as a symbol of the evolution of technology 

and Asian tradition.

  The name originally planned for the building, Taipei World Financial Center, until 2003, 


was derived from the name of the owner.


  The original name in Chinese was literally, Taipei International Financial Center.

Machu Picchu - The ruins(1)

Machu Picchu is located in the Cusco Region of Peru, South America. 

 It is situated on a mountain ridge above the Urubamba Valley(2,430me) in Andes 

Mountains, and Machu Picchu means "Old Peak", 

Machu Picchu was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983.

In 2007, Machu Picchu was voted one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.

However, it still remains as a mystery why Incas built this great structures. 

Someone says they built this for avoiding the Spanish,

or the secret city for training the troops in order to revenge to the Spanish.

However, no one still know the purpose of this buildings.

Burj Khalifa - Skyscraper (1)

  This amazingly high building is located in Dubai. The height of the building is 828m, the 

area is 334,000㎡. The building's name comes from the president of UAE, Khalifa bin Zaid

 al-Nahayan. The building was constructed by South Korean company, Samsung 

Engineering & Construction, which also did work on the Petronas Twin Towers and

Taipei 101.

  The design of Burj Khalifa is derived from patterning systems embodied in Islamic 

architecture. According to the structural engineer, Bill Baker of SOM, the building's 

design incorporates cultural and historical elements particular to the region.


  The building started to construct in September 2004, and was completed in October 

2009. And now days, the building is the tallest construction in the world.

Habitat 67 - unique buildings (1)

  Today's buildings is the "Habitat 67". This buildings is in the Quebec, Canada. 

The designer's name is Moshe Safdie, from Israel. Habitat 67 consists of 354 identical, 

concrete block forms arranged in various combinations, reaching up to 12 stories in 

height. Together these units create 148 residences of varying sizes and configurations, 

each formed from between one to eight linked concrete units. The complex originally 

contained 158 apartments, but several apartments have since been joined to create 

larger units, reducing the total number.

  Each unit is connected to at least one private terrace, which can range from 

approximately 20.9 to 93in size.

  Purpose of construction is for the Montreal Expo in 1967.
